Philips and Monica Healthcare announce collaboration for innovative fetal monitoring solution
New exclusive co-development agreement to develop new advancements in mother and child care
WHAT:
Royal Philips today announced an exclusive global co-development agreement with Monica Healthcare, a leading supplier of abdominal fetal monitoring measurements. The two companies agreed to integrate Monica’s latest signal acquisition technology into the Philips Avalon CL product platform, in the form of a wearable patch solution.
HOW:
With Monica Healthcare, Philips aims to strengthen its well-established Avalon product portfolio of fetal and maternal monitors. The co-development agreement will continue to advance maternal and child care by helping to monitor at-risk patients, especially those with a high BMI. The solution will join Philips’ existing portfolio of solutions designed for advanced cableless monitoring and connected care across the health continuum, from healthy living and prevention, to diagnosis, treatment, recovery and home care.
WHY:
The announcement builds upon Philips strong legacy and commitment to creating innovative solutions for mothers and children to connect care. Earlier this year Philips launched its cableless fetal monitoring solution, the Avalon CL. The Avalon CL cableless fetal monitoring system allows moms to move freely during labor and offers them more flexible birthing options. The system feeds continuous vital information, while giving moms the freedom to roam, not tethered to a monitor. It measures and transmits fetal movement and heart rate, uterine activity, and fetal or maternal ECG. As an integral part of our obstetrical and fetal monitoring and information management portfolio, Avalon CL is designed to work with Philips Avalon monitors.
