Innovation funding boost for blister prevention firm

The Wirral-based business behind PelliTec blister prevention technology has secured grant funding from Innovate UK.

Building on the success of former  Innovate UK programmes, like Women in Innovation and Young Innovators, the innovation agency is awarding £6.2m to firms nationwide.

PelliTec is among the 233 innovative companies to have been awarded a £50,000 grant. The business will also receive 12 months of tailored support to help them grow.

The grant will enable the business to develop its patented anti-friction technology into the amputee market where skin irritation caused by friction is a major problem.

PelliTec (Tectores) won the Emerging Exporter Award at Insider's North West International Trade Awards in 2022.

Peter Broxton, PelliTec's managing director, said the backing would help the company "continue with our product development and growth plans".
