Manchester Imaging

Manchester Imaging is a dental diagnostic software company that has developed software to automatically detect caries (decay) from dental x-ray images. The software is based on computer vision and machine learning technology and has been developed to help dentists be more effective at detecting early caries at a point at which preventative treatments or interventions can delay or stop progression. Manchester Imaging is a spin out company from the University of Manchester and is based on a decade of academic collaboration between Professor Hugh Devlin, Professor of Restorative Dentistry, and Dr Jim Graham, an Honorary Reader in the Centre for Imaging Science.

This has enabled the company to secure a license and collaboration agreement with a leading multinational dental supplier to commercially launch its diagnostic software.
